One year later

“Tasha, Tasha, hurry up, girl,” Judy laughed. She grabbed Tasha by her hand as they ran into the church. “Come on, girl.”

They burst into the dressing room and paused. Shelly Marshall turned and looked at her daughter. Both had tears in their eyes.

“Ma, you look breathtaking,” Tasha whispered.

“So do you, angel.”

Tasha stood by her mother when she finished walking down the aisle. She looked at the face of Doctor Sampson. In all her seventeen years, she had never seen a man look at her mother the way he looked at her with such love and admiration. Tasha glanced at Apostle Williams. She was beaming like a proud momma. Tasha watched her mom become a wife for the first time. She will never forget the vows her mom said to Dr. Sampson.

“You are the Adam God created for me when he made me,”

Tasha thought about those words. Her mom spent fourteen years in a marriage that was wrong from the beginning. She admired her mom for having the courage to get out.

I am going to wait on my Adam, Tasha declared in her heart.

Tasha was shocked back into reality when she saw the ceremony had changed. Apostle anointed Tasha, Dr. Sampson, and Shelly. She said some words over the family and then gave the mike to Shelly.

“I am so grateful for this day. Not only has the Lord given me my life back, he healed my daughter, gave me a beautiful Boaz, and has promoted me to be a shepherd over a ministry. I am humble to announce the birth of Healing Because I’m Healed Ministries. As the Pastor of this ministry, I will be the leader God called me to be. On my side, my husband, Dr. Sampson, my angel, Sister Tasha, and Apostle Williams will be my covering.”

The entire church stood and applauded.

“So, Tasha looks like you a Pastor’s Kid,” Judy said with a smile.

Tasha looked at Judy and smiled.

“Judy, I have always been a Pastor’s kid. I just didn’t know that all this time, my Pastor was my mom.”
